Good procurement practice underpins many of the Council’s objectives, helping to ensure that high quality, cost effective services are provided. With this in place we can help ensure that the procurement process is fair, open and transparent for all potential suppliers. This is an integral part of performance management which helps link the Council’s community leadership role and corporate planning with service delivery.
The Council encourages competition and welcomes bids from a wide range of organisations. Contracts are awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous solution for the Council. This takes into account the full life cycle, quality and sustainability. Although the Council cannot positively discriminate against SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) and local suppliers we encourage them to compete for all tender opportunities.
For hints and tips on tendering for public sector contracts please review the government guide here
Currently we tender for all goods and services over the value of £20,000. Where the value of the contract exceeds the European threshold (i.e. services and supplies £173,934 and works £4,348,350) the opportunity will be advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU)
All tender opportunities are advertised on the Councils procurement page, Contracts Finder and here at CSW-JETS.
CSW-JETS is a joint tendering initiative between neighbouring councils, streaming the tender process through In-tend and raising awareness to new opportunities within the area, achieved through automated prompts to the registered user.
To take advantage of this opportunity, register your interest by clicking on the ‘register here’ link on the top left of the screen. When registering please ensure that you select the correct category of tender opportunities. This will ensure that you receive email prompts relevant to your organisation.
